The Science
Modern lighting and screens emit high levels of blue light, the same signal your brain uses to stay alert during the day.
When this light reaches your eyes at night, it can delay the release of melatonin - the hormone that tells your body it’s time to sleep.
Balterra’s Night (Amber) Lens is engineered to filter up to 95% of blue light between 380–500nm, including the wavelengths most responsible for suppressing melatonin.
By reducing this disruptive light spectrum, the lens helps your brain recognise evening conditions - supporting your body’s natural transition from day to night.
Unlike clear lenses or minimal coatings, our amber lens provides targeted biological filtration based on decades of chronobiology and optical science.
The result is a lens designed not just for comfort, but to support your natural circadian rhythm during evening screen use and indoor lighting.
Through the Lens
This Is What Evenings Should Look Like
Softer. Warmer. Easier.
Night filters the blue wavelengths that keep your brain alert after dark - without the full-spectrum intensity of Night+. The result is a natural, amber warmth that signals your nervous system to begin winding down.

When to Wear
Designed for winding down, without winding up.
Our amber lenses are purpose-built for use after sunset, when your body begins producing melatonin—the hormone responsible for sleep and circadian regulation. These lenses are best worn indoors under low-lux artificial light, typically under 200 lux—including warm household bulbs, bedside lamps, and ambient evening lighting.
Whether you're wrapping up the day, cooking dinner, or reading before bed, these lenses help your body transition into rest mode without the interference of blue light stimulation.
Wear them:
– In the evening under warm, dim lighting
– While watching TV, scrolling, or reading at night
– When dining or relaxing under artificial lighting
– After sunset when outdoors under streetlights or car lights
Not for use in sunlight.
For earlier in the day, use our Yellow Daylight lens. For full night-time protection, transition to our Red Night+ lens.

Frequently asked questions
When Do I wear my Balterra Blue Light Blocking Glasses
Use Daytime lenses during the day in indoor or screen-heavy environments to reduce eye strain and support focus. Switch to Night (Amber) in low‑light evening settings—dim lamps, or go Night+ (Red) under intense artificial light—TV's, phones, LEDs, or overheads—for complete circadian protection.
Can I wear my Balterra Glasses All Day
Yes — when indoors and exposed to artificial light. Our lenses are designed to support your circadian rhythm by filtering overstimulating blue light from screens and LEDs.
However, they’re not intended for natural sunlight. For best results, wear them inside — and let real daylight reach your eyes when outdoors.
When will I get my order?
Orders are typically processed within 1–2 business days. Once dispatched, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details so you can follow your delivery in real time.
Please note: during peak periods or product launches, dispatch may take slightly longer — but we always aim to get your order to you as quickly as possible.
Can I wear Balterra glasses with contact lenses or prescriptions?
Absolutely. Our non-prescription glasses are perfect for contact lens wearers. If you need prescription lenses, we’re working on custom RX options — stay tuned.
What if the frames don’t suit me?
We offer a 30-Day Right Fit Guarantee. Try them on at home — if the fit isn’t quite right, return them in reasonable condition and we’ll help you find the right pair or issue a refund.
